Not exactly musical, and the guy's bass face rivals that of the bassist in Haim.

Also at about 0.07 you can see the headstock decal. It says Tagima, but I thought it said Tagina, which is very easy to mis-spell...

Just don't bother learning SLAP, complete waste of time and energy. Every time I hear someone play SLAP they always, and I really do mean always play the same riff. If you really want to sound like SLAP sounds, buy a drum kit, it will sound much more musical and be of greater use to your band mates.

I thank you.......................... not keen on SLAP style of bass playing me !

Ta very glad BIGd

I think the number one rule here is don't learn it if you think it sounds or makes you look cool. Learn it because you think it sounds good. Just like Mr. Miller makes it sounds!

From his album "S.O.S. Baixo" (2005). He made quite some (very good) music: http://pt.wikipedia....i/Celso_Pixinga

That slap 'style' in the OP really never got beyond the 80's and it wasn't that great then....
If people think that is where slap is now, or can't hear the difference, then maybe they don't listen enough to know
what they are talking about.

The best slap part, IMO, is rarely more than 2 bars long anyway.

I've been waiting for years for that Road To Damascus moment when I'm suddenly struck by a blinding light from Heaven and realise that the song I am playing would just sound SO much better with a bit of slap ...

Don't hold your breath, guys, it ain't happening any time soon.

I'm not sure of this interpretation, but I interpret some comments here as stating the man in the OP lacks musicality.
Whatever the negatives of the vid on the OP might be, I think there is absolutely no lack of musicality in this man. He may be misguided, but imho does have a very clear picture of the musical depths that are his aim, even though he doesn't completely get there.

I don't like the vid, but kudos where kudos are due.
