Roland Rock
Perfect juxtaposition of old and modern, or misguided mess? Strangely enough, I wouldn't mind this, but would like to see a more elegant tuner system hidden at the back, and maybe a rectangular pickup rather than split
discreet
It definitely has a certain, ah... presence though, doesn't it..?
xilddx
You know what, apart from the silly number of strings, the protruding tuners (as you rightly pointed out) and the f***ing vile sickonyourkitchenfloor look of tortoiseshell on black, I like it! ambient
Why are their (otherwise brilliant) basses always such a horrible shape ? Kinda like the designer has a jigsaw puzzle fixation .
Ghosts Over Japan
I'm pretty keen on this, would be interested to try a five string version Cai
Hah, I actually thought it was quite balanced, in a vitriolic kind of way. I've pondered on this some more, and these would make it good for me: - Hidden tuners, then make the arse less lumpy and more jazzy - B/W/B scratchplate - 5 Strings - Possibly maple fretboard, but I'd need to see that in the flesh
xilddx
I wish these buggers who designed it would think about how it's going to sit on a stand. This thing's got no chance. The Hohner Jack and the B2A don't even need a stand, they stand on the strap buttons if you lean it against something. This W&T thing will be slipslidin around on a stand. Spose you could use a wall hanger. Edited August 31, 2013 by xilddx

peteb
No, the jazz is stable on most stands. This will slip.
Not on the stands that I have – the bottom of the bass just about clings on to the stand exactly where the jack socket is, meaning that you have to unplug before you can put it on the stand. Dunno about on a stand but the W&T looks like it might just balance on the protruding tuners, which I would have thought is less than ideal… Edited September 1, 2013 by peteb
