bubinga5 Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 oh dear there really are some sheltered bass players on this forum. Quote
RhysP Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013
If you could ask Rocco Prestia anything, professional or personal, what would you want to know?
I'd ask him if he could get me your phone number while he's talking to you. Quote
ratman Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 I'd ask him does he prefer Marmite (which as we all know, tastes disgusting), or Vegemite (which is deeeelicious). Quote
lojo Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 What do you think of Precisions , is there really any need for anything else ? Quote
The Dark Lord Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 What is it like being a backing musician for other people? Quote

yorks5stringer Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Just like to say a big "Thanks" to Tac England and Rocco following my question. It was really great for them to fly me across to San Francisco, arrange for me to go to a TOP gig and have a personal Bass lesson with the great man himself..................................................................................................................................................I wish! However, the next best thing was a parcel that arrived today with an autographed photo ( of Rocco) and a set of 5 Ironworks Bass Strings in an autographed tin. http://www.mjcironworks.com/new-products/ I'm chuffed to bits! Quote

molan Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 I'd ask what he feels about US healthcare - you'd have to assume he was a pretty successful musician but the system is so poor that he can't get/afford decent healthcare and is really not at all well Quote

TOP were pretty niche so not sure what they may have grossed in their time..?? and then the equation is how much per year for how long to really be able to sustain a good standard of living. Not a bitch as such, just a thought about how well a jobber has to do throughout their career. His reputation is higher than that of course, but iirc, TOP is all he did... so that was his soul musical outlet ..??? Quote
