Wilco Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014
I checked a then catalogue. You were right, and the body was basswood. Thank you very much for your advice. This is a very cool bass.
Sure it's Basswood & not 'wood fibre'? I've just got a Silver Series Jazz & that has got a basswood body. In my research before buying that, I read in a few places that some of the Silver Series bodies were made out of wood fibre. These were very heavy apparently, so had some extra body work routing to lighten them up a bit. Just looking at the pictures, I wondered if that was the case on this one? Either way, the reputation of both is excellent & for what I paid for mine, I'm more than happy!
kukkunyan Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 Thanks. You are right, and this is wood fiber of basswood. And neck of the Siver Series is wood same as Fender Japan. In particular, rosewood fretboard is very high quality.
kukkunyan Posted June 16, 2014 Author Posted June 16, 2014 Skunk line is out faintly. However, it does not affect performance.
