jakenewmanbass
I have a trio rehearsal on thurs and we are aiming to have some electronica based ideas laid down to play over (of our own making). Anyone have any experience of these things, I just want to try something out at first. Edited September 3, 2013 by jakenewmanbass
krysh
so many options jake. from simple (tc ditto) to super complex (boss rc-300, boomerang III, EH 45000) I am more than happy with my digitech stereo jamman with a fabe that gives the opportunity to store on the fly.... but just for playback even a smartphone would work perfectly. Sibob
As mentioned above, lots of choice nowadays. I would suggest that you'll only want an entry type looper at this stage, like the TC Ditto, Boss RC-3 or Digitech Jam-Man Solo. Another good way of not spending out on a looper specifically, is to buy a Delay pedal that has Looping functionality, such as the Boss DD-7, TC Flashback, Akai Headrush, Line6 DL-4 Anything above those might be overkill for you at this point Si
iamtheelvy
Akai Headrush is an excellent live tool. Far less options than the others, but that makes it so easy to use!

iamtheelvy
It does all depend on what you want to sample/loop. If it's something to prepare beforehand, then some of the dedicated (and more complex) loopers are great if you've got time for them. If it's an on the fly loop you're after, keep it simple! The Akai and Ditto are the nicest simple ones I've seen recently (the Akai supposedly is discontinued last I heard, but seems to be available everywhere... please correct me though!). The Boss and Jamman ones aren't bad, but too many buttons for my liking...
dannybuoy
New option out recently also: http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/TC_Flashback_x4.html
Pinball
New option out recently also: http://www.bassdirec...ashback_x4.html
I have on of these and they are great. Originally I was looking at getting a ditto but had the chance to try one and realised that I wanted more than it could give. The extra options and delay on the more expensive flashbacks make them great value for money. I love the Dynamic setting which favours the most recent thing you play. There is also a great value cheaper option: http://www.google.co.uk/shopping/product/13316490862780941676?q=TC+flashback+delay&safe=off&client=safari&rls=en&bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&bvm=bv.51773540,d.ZGU,pv.xjs.s.en_US.jkEW54nYU50.O&biw=1707&bih=772&tch=1&ech=1&psi=lFwrUq_kKM_g7QbA3oGQBg.1378573461509.3&sa=X&ei=mFwrUr_DHsLN7Ab70YHoBQ&ved=0CFYQ8wIwAA Before that I used to mess around with a JM-4, which was great in that you could record what you did and had lots of modelling options but was too complicated for my small brain for live use Edited September 7, 2013 by Pinball
jakenewmanbass
Thanks guys, I'm liking the look of the ditto...
Thunderpaws
Just bought one ditto yesterday. Played last night and it is great fun. You can work out how it works in less than 5 mins. Price has dropped to 85 too, so it's a no brainer if you are after a simple pooper. Quality seems superb, build wise and sound wise.
