twotonechoo
Hi, I have a hohner acoustic bass with an internal pick up, which I love. However I am hoping to play a live set with it in a month or so but the estring is so much louder than any of the others so causing a heap load of trouble when balancing a live mix. This Db issue is apparent in both acoustic and line out. Is there anything I can do to cure this problem? ( I'm thinking maybe the bridge? ) I would be most gratefull for any ideas from anyone, Thanx.
bennifer
EQ out the relevant frequency? Do you have eq on the acoustic itself? if so just experiment until you pull down the right section. Otherwise do it on the desk or with the sound guys rack eq units, thats what they're there for!
tauzero
If it's a piezo bridge, you could try just taking the strings off and lifting the bridge saddle out, then putting it back, making sure it's seated evenly. It's surprising how much difference it can make if it's binding or something like that.
