Snakey Lane Posted December 1, 2008 Author Posted December 1, 2008 Latest photos from Robbie - it's really coming together Quote
neepheid Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Looking good. I love that RIM headstock. Quote
7string Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008
Looking good. I love that RIM headstock.
Agreed! The fishtail's pretty cool as well. Quote
Snakey Lane Posted December 13, 2008 Author Posted December 13, 2008 Latest picture from Robbie. And a change of heart on the 12th fret inlay - I'm going for no inlay, just side markers. Decided to keep it simple. Quote
thumb4bob Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008
Agreed! The fishtail's pretty cool as well.
My dream bass will have both Quote
Snakey Lane Posted January 16, 2009 Author Posted January 16, 2009 More photos from Robbie. The top is on! Quote
7string Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Looks excellent (and much more bass-like). Quote
Buzz Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Yay, always nice to see a RIM build coming along, and that maple top is understated and lush. Quote
Snakey Lane Posted February 20, 2009 Author Posted February 20, 2009 Major progress. Frets in. Body routed (but scoop out still to be added). Back routed. Robbie is still waiting for the long-delayed custom bridge from his supplier - hope this doesn't turn out to be a problem! Quote
Snakey Lane Posted February 27, 2009 Author Posted February 27, 2009 Supplier now promising custom bridge within two weeks. Fingers double crossed, as Robbie said :-) Quote
Snakey Lane Posted March 22, 2009 Author Posted March 22, 2009 Robbie has now fitted the back cover. And the custom bridge is meant to be in the post from Germany. Quote
Snakey Lane Posted May 12, 2009 Author Posted May 12, 2009 Now, when I said "in the post " on 22 March, what I should have said was "will be in the post on 11 May" :-( Anyway, Robbie has been a star and shown great customer service, given the grief he has been getting from one of his suppliers. The bridge is now in the post, and there is photographic evidence :-) Quote
Mikey R Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009
The bridge is now in the post, and there is photographic evidence :-)
Those ETS bridges look the mutts nuts! They do the individual ones and even do headless hardware, but Ive heard they were having problems hitting customer deadlines, which is a real shame. Quote
Snakey Lane Posted May 18, 2009 Author Posted May 18, 2009 Courtesy of Robbie, latest pictures showing bridge and tailpiece not just delivered but trial fitted on my bass. Happiness :-) Thanks, Robbie. Quote
Snakey Lane Posted May 23, 2009 Author Posted May 23, 2009 It's going to be a great weekend :-) Quote
Snakey Lane Posted June 6, 2009 Author Posted June 6, 2009 It will be a bit quiet for a while now - Robbie is taking the bass apart to do the surface finish. Quote
Buzz Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 That's rather fetching. There's something about Robbie's basses that scream workhorse while still retaining the custom vibe of it. The headstock is slowly growing on me as well. Quote
