gjones
Stone the crows! I'm sure that the last time I checked out Geddy Lee prices the were well over £800. You can get one at GAK today for £729 (Mexican I assume). I wonder if that's because of lack of demand for Mex Geddys or because of the passing on of lower production costs for Fender? karlfer
They have a bit, my sunburst was £760 ish. Prices on Japanese basses have rocketted over the last few years due to exchange rates, increased labour costs, vat changes etc. Have a look at a Japan 75 RI now for example. £750, plus import plus vat plus transport equates to around £1050 AND THAT'S SECOND HAND! The move to Mexico meant the Geddies and Millers came down a little in price. Certainly not in quality, as can be seen from various members comments over the last year or so. The finish, set up on my Mex Geddy is superb. As it was on my Mex FSR Antigua and Mex FSR Sea Foam Deluxe. Enjoy it while it lasts, Fender will put their prices up next Jan. Edit. The following link has some interesting comments on Mexican basses. The Road Worn series are also very well thought of. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/216053-which-fender/ Edited September 6, 2013 by karlfer
