jackotheclown Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 So I just had another cruise ship audition, it went quite well this time hopefully I'll get something out of it. One of the only things I was unsure about was when he asked me to play a few basslines in various different latin styles. Like a Cha Cha groove, Rumba, Tango and a few others. I have studied jazz at Uni and we never got taught about this styles in depth. Now I'm in the real world, its time to wise up before I go on a cruise. Anyone got any pointers? Quote
miles'tone Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 This has what you're looking for: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/0739013548 We worked through it when I studied at the M.I. Very handy! Quote
miles'tone Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 (edited) Ps. Here's the contents page so you can see what's there (there is a book 2 also but I haven't used it myself) http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=8XaY8oAbORYC&pg=PA3&lpg=PP1&output=html_text There may be more comprehensive books out there but this is a good introduction for sure.
