Looper
Hi, Just wondering what people do when they're in a position where they have no-one to jam with? How do you keep up your interest and progression? I'm living out in the west of Ireland, for the summer there's music to be played in the pubs, people around for a jam, but in winter there's no-one, and I really mean no-one about. Last winter I tried advertising, trying to get a band started with out any joy, so this year I'm facing up to the reality that it's going to be months before I'm working with anyone again. When there's gigs going there's new songs to learn and I always feel I'm learning the most as a bassist when I'm playing with people not recordings. How does anyone else keep themselves inspired when they're between bands? Thanks all.
4000
Write. Record. Learn to play other instruments. Bass is my first instrument, but I'm not precious about it, it's just a brick in a musical wall. Look beyond it.
