kasbridge Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 All, Going to put my Thumb 5NT Fretless up for sale in the basschat marketplace, looking for a starter for 10 on value, I was thinking around the £1500 mark? Bass is mint/flightcased etc.... Thanks, kevin Quote
kasbridge Posted September 7, 2013 Author Posted September 7, 2013 For the avoidance of doubt I have paid my £20 and am not listing by stealth here :-) Quote
warwickhunt Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 £1500 is a decent enough approximation of value, I don't think that you have undervalued it at that price. I'd suggest putting it up at that and the market response will tell you if it is too much and you can adjust accordingly. Quote
Dingus Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 (edited) If it was my bass I would try asking for a bit more than that to begin with and see what happened , but, looking at what other Warwicks seem to be going for on Basschat , £1500 seems like a realistic price to me . A new Thumb NT 5 string fretless would cost crazy money nowadays , so your bass could be a very good alternative for someone looking for one of these. Try and hold out for a decent price . Clarky Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 (edited) BassDirect have one for £1600 and you would expect a premium for a retailer as opposed to a private seller (due to their rates etc). So £1500 as a starting point, makes sense to me too http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Warwick_Thumb_NT5_FL.html Edited September 8, 2013 by Clarky Quote

Might give the 'bay a go - does anyone have experience of selling high end basses there? Quote
thisnameistaken Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 I hope you get £1500 for it but Thumbs tend to have a limited audience and fretless models even more so. Personally though I would love a Thumb 5 fretless and I would pay £1500 for one if I didn't have an awful car that ate all my money. Quote
