Hi folks, I have an EBS Neo 115 cabinet that has developed a buzzing noise when playing notes at a certain pitch. It sounds like a medium to low frequency buzz/rattle but I can't find anything loose such as the speaker mesh that is resonating. Anyone have any idea what might be causing it? The noise is centred on low A and reduces either side until its disappears after 3 semitones either way.

Just noticed an existing topic on buzzing/farting speakers so will follow that advice.... Ok followed the advice and buzzing, new speaker time?

Have you checked the nut is tight on the tweeter control on the back? Mine was loose and caused the same problem! I had a similar issue with an Proline can as well and that was a cable inside that had moved and was laying against the back of the speaker so was vibrating against it.

Thanks for the tips but still buzzing. Will dismantle it again and try to double check cables on speaker. Maybe listen with speaker away from cabinet.

Well just checked one more time and the buzzy sound seems to have gone. I notice I had refitted the speaker slightly rotated round from its original position so maybe that meant the wires no longer touched the speaker or maybe some dirt/dust got dislodged. Who knows? Many thanks to Messrs Pantherairsoft and Starr for keeping their eyes open fto pleas for help and advice, your replies were much appreciated, you are true gents...

Awesome stuff. Glad this got resolved! It could have been anything really. One screw from the grill or holding the driver in just a tiny bit loose, or, like you said, putting the driver back like you did meant a cable was no longer touching the back. Either way - If it's gone, it's good!!
