The Everson Caiman is a thing of beauty...

Still looking at amps, but also really, really fancy a long scale Warwick Star Bass...

And an Everson....

And an ACG Krell....

And..... :D

Hey, I've got one of those! One day I'll post some pics! ;)

And what a fine bass it is! Not that I've ever seen a picture... Obviously :P

A 70's era/70's style Precision. Vintage white, black guard and maple board. The Matt Freeman Squier is probably the best bet, but I don't have room for another bass!

Keep an eye on the marketplace in about a fortnight

I want a twin soapbar 5 string with a maple fretboard and no position markers.
[/quote]

Ditto, though I'd be happy with dot markers

I could live with dots. The only thing I can find that fits the bill is an MTD.

Lakland 55-01?

Yamaha BB2024, still. Only now, it's getting to that point where I'm thinking about what I'd have to sell and spending every spare moment googling them. It's getting serious...

I have underlying GAS for one of these that seems seperate from regular GAS... It's always there in the background nagging away at me.

I'm in exactly the same situation. Drooled over these in the 70s and wanted one ever since. Got a Hayman 4040 a while back which has certainly helped a lot, but I still need (want  ) a Marathon!

Don't say stuff like that... GAS is easier to recognise as GAS if it's only me that wants the things I'm GASsing for.

If someone else has the same GAS then my GAS starts to seem justified!

Oh, it's justified all right! What other high-quality, hand-built 1970s vintage bass can you get for £300-£400?
It would be crazy not to!! ...This isn't helping, is it? :D

It's not helping no!

I've got a thing for brittish built basses at the moment and as you say, they are very reasonably priced for vintage instruments that can only get rarer and increase in value...

I was very tempted by that black/maple one in the marketplace...

I really want one of these

Think I may have posted one of those further back in the thread...

... I think in hindsight a thread detailing basses I don't have GAS for would probably be easier.
