A thin necked, 4 string, active, fretless with lines, lightweight, not muddy sounding, that sings, ebony fretboard for roundwounds only, very trebly sound, pre-amp, and YES before you all say it:

ACG!!!!

unless something else is available, there is always Mayones, Shuker, Sandberg, Status, even Marcusyzxkzx (can't spell it) .....but it a lot of dosh for a completely non gigging non musician!!!

I thought that, so I went out and started gigging. Now I have my ACG!

Currently would love a Lakland but I don't like the idea of having a bass which doesn't have 24 frets. I'd also love a fretless bass but finding a use for it to make it worth buying is hard.

I have GAS for a Fodera Emperor 5 Standard or a Warwick Streamer Stage I. Both really high end basses which are really versatile and will last a long time which again, I'm looking for in a bass at the moment but the only problem is, is that it will take me around 6 years to save up by the rate I'm going at the moment. Happy to wait this sort of time but it's so hard to choose between them ;)

I still have the eternal Wal Mk.1 fretted 4 GAS but the most recent do-able GAS is for:
Tech21 VT Bass 500 amp with a Barefaced Retro Two10 cab :)

1980s esh Serious Bass. Virtually unknown over here in USA, but I fell in lust with it when I lived in Germany in the late '80s. Haven't laid eyes on one in person in 26 years but I still fantasise about it.

I'm really drawn to an Ovation Magnum I or II never played one but i love the shape and pickup set up.

I had a Magnum II back in the early '90s. Really cool instrument and very interesting in many ways, but the big thick neck ultimately just didn't get along with me.

I keep looking at those Sire Marcus Miller V7 5-strings on Thomann... And then at the price... And then at the bank balance... And then at the missus...

Status Streamline. I have no idea why. Perhaps its because they're unlike anything else out there. I quite fancy rocking one of those in my sh*te pub band, just to be a little perverse...
