A Lake Placid Blue, matching headstock jazz bass with rosewood 'board, pearloid block inlays and cream 'board binding... Lightly relic'd.

Get a Lakky Daryl Jones and a sander!

Something like this would be nice, sonic blue, rosewood board, tort scratchplate, blank headstock, close to perfect.

I'm not massively GASsy though, I'm quite happy with my P Bass and my amp, although I'd prefer that the neck on the P Bass didn't have the plastic truss rod access that you have on Mexican Fenders, it just looks wrong and a bit cheap IMO.

Also, I'm perpetually GASsing for one of these:

You can't have sonic blue with a tort guard! It's against the law! ;)
I do like black gold and maple though, good call.

Thought someone would mention that!

I'd swap out the gold guard for a black one if I ever do pick up one of the Classic 50s P Basses, I'm sorely tempted to flog the P and J I have at the moment to raise funds for one, I think I could safely say I'd be GAS-free for a long time if I did.

Also, if a mod could send the link for this thread on to Santa, we'd all greatly appreciate it.

A Pino Precision, Gibson Thunderbird, Jetglo Ric, and one of the Coronado re-issues for me please.

Oh, and a Fender Bassman and cab, or a nice old Ampeg valve rig.

Reminds me, I have a lottery ticket from Saturday that I haven't checked yet. If I've won the jackpot, everyone on this thread can have everything on their GAS list :)

For me... really just an old Thumb bass, the first bass I got to play was a 5 string thumb so they have always been my dream bass. Like most folk I've not much money really to sink in so will rely on selling stuff first, but alas the plan to buy the awesome 1986 JD thumb I had seen fell through months ago when no one wanted anything I was selling :( ach well - one day, it's my 30th next year and already started priming the wife I may save up for something...... :D

other that that I'm sorted! There is a half curiousity about other amp setup - ideally a Bergantino IP powered cab and some kind of nice preamp/DI to feed into it. That gas is tamed by.... the fact that i never see them up for sale...
looking at your sig... all vintage fender and then a jump to a flea bass... bit of a jump in style there!

A detached house where I can practise at decent volumes without worrying about neighbours..does that count?
Yes! [SMUG GIT] I've already got one. [/SMUG GIT]

Well that statement has probably lost me some friends - if I had any in the first place. ;)

You've sure got that right! I'm a huge fan and want the bass just for a bit of fun, might as well use a Flea Bass when jamming along to their older records! In any other instance, got to be a Fender! I share your GAS pain, isn't it a nightmare when you just can't find it?!!
