TheGreek Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I've always got GAS but I can't find anything that I want to buy!! Quote
Myke Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Kevs lovely ACG. Tempted to sell all my basses to pay for it! Quote
bassix Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 I'm back lusting after a Yamaha 2024x in Vintage White, still the best bass i've ever tried. If only I'd had the £2000 odd asking price they wanted! Quote
Barabass Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Barefaced Super Midget. With steel grill, no, silver cloth. Eeh steel. I choose for cloth, steel. Quote

Skol303 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 I can honestly say that for the first time ever I am currently GAS-free! At least in terms of instruments and amps, etc. It's a very peculiar yet liberating feeling, which will probably end up something like this... Quote
Rich Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 1. 1965 Jazz Bass. 2. Wal 5-string. 3. Errm... 4. ...that's it. Quote
Jonnyboy Rotten Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Purely from an imagination point of view I would love a Sandberg P bass with dual humbuckers (one in the MM position) with the wood finished in blue. I forget the name but there is a custom air rifle stock maker (gary something or other) who does some amazing stuff and I'd love a Sandberg bass that looks like his work. Quote

Will probably settle for a 424 or a s/h 1024 if I can find one, and the dosh to pay for it... Quote

kodiakblair Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Thought it was over after picking up a B-Quad yesterday then I see Dave Konig's post of a Super-P with the Stinger preamp and coil tap. Guess I'll be thinking of adding a Stinger now. Quote
BrunoBass Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I wandered into a music shop in the Trafford Centre at the weekend (whilst visiting Manchester) with my 4 year old as they had ukuleles in the window (he's obsessed with ukes). At the back they had a black Aerodyne. I'd never seen one in the flesh before and despite not trying it GAS ensued... Does anyone have one? Any good? It looked fantastic! Quote
BassAgent Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Played this this afternoon. What a bass. Might come instead of a hollowbody. Quote
RhysP Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Despite not having picked up a bass for best part of a year & not even really thinking of myself as a bass player anymore I have suddenly been gripped by the intense desire to own an Alembic. Sheer madness. Quote

Skybone Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I want a Rickenbacker. Can't afford one, can't justify one, certainly don't need one. I just want one. I want a new motorbike too, and there's even less chance of that happening. Quote
Lysdexia Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 (edited) I had a Warwick Streamer LX with the H/S pup configuration - and loved it - but couldn't get on with how it slapped. Or how it hung on me when standing. And I didn't like the oily finish thing or much like the colour of the fretboard and was never a fan of the spade-like headstock. The pup placement/height was also about perfect for finger style play. I've had any number of Fender Jazz basses ('75 reissue necks being my favourites) and loved how they slapped, but was often niggled by a constant search for a fuller. richer tone. Aesthetically they are hugely appealing to me - unless they have a rosewood board with dots, then they are one the verge of m***erdom. An Aerodyne I had for a short time was the perfect weight, but sounded like a Jazz after someone let the tyres down. I want a bass that marries the best of things I like from above. Light, rich in tone with H/S (or H/H and coil splits) that plays and slaps like a Jazz and looks amazing. Maybe something like a Clover Apeiron or a Status Graphite Jazz bass - are there others I don't know of that would deliver what I need? Edited April 6, 2016 by Lysdexia Quote
