thodrik Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 A Musicman Stingray ever since I saw that Tim Commerford rig rundown... It will be something else next week. Quote
lowlandtrees Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Really good FendPrec either 5 or vintage 4......and a Duke DB.........sad have neither the cash nor the work for either.............GAS is a burden. eg...I longed all my life for a Gibson 335 and a Rick 4001 and when a got them I really was dissappointed......what I REALLY want is talent and time to practice.....and time back from my wasted youth............and a good band Quote
TransistorBassMan Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Either Fender Deluxe Active Jazz or Deluxe Active Precision Special in Surf Pearl Quote
josie Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Just this: http://timber-tones.co.uk/sun-tones-mixed-tin-of-4-guitar-picks-2634-p.asp I'm not allowing myself any more bass guitars until I can play my new fretless respectably. Don't let me start thinking about a new amp though. Quote
Wylie Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 ... An '80s P-bass currently residing at my bass teacher's house: natural aging to the honey-colored finish, tuners totally corroded by sweat, the whole thing beat up and ... what a sound! What a bass! Quote
Twigman Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 A black Musicman Sterling - a proper one - like this: http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/bass_guitars_detail.asp?stock=160620298850008 but I don't have £1700 burning a hole in my pocket Quote
Trueno Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 Currently a Fender Mustang... probably the sonic blue one. Really regret selling my MIJ fiesta red Mustang a few years ago. I think it would make a perfect bass to practise at home. Quote
skidder652003 Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 a 1979 pre ernie ball sabre for a "special price" from a mate, can't say where, but i can't afford it, but by God I want it... Quote
thegummy Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 I very much want a Honey Blonde 50s Precision and to add a tort pickguard. That's because I don't have a P and want one though rather than pure GAS and I will buy one in the next few months. When it comes to raw GAS where I just desire things for the sake of it I'd go with a Flea Jazz and a Baja Tele. Despite the only Fender I have currently being American, there's something about the high end Mexicans I find really appealing. Quote
Rexel Matador Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 I love tele shaped guitars but always thought it didn't really work for basses, for some reason. But then this started calling out to me and I'm well and truly under its spell: Quote
Funky Dunky Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 A 5 string MusicMan Sterling HH in black. Quote
thegummy Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016
I very much want a Honey Blonde 50s Precision
Was playing one in the shop today for a bit. The glossy neck is really putting me off Quote
sprocketflup Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Thanks to another BC thread, a Mars Bar. Quote
A.G.E.N.T.E. Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 For now, i would be quite happy with these two Quote
skb558 Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Having just missed out on the 2009 that Jamie had a few weeks it had to be a Musicman Stingray HH 4 Honeyburst Maple. Gumtree has a Stingray fretless that is pretty tempting. Quote
Paul S Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 A Yamaha BB 415 or 425. In black. I'd like to A/B it with the Peavey Foundation 5er I currently have as a back up bass and have a feeling I would prefer it. Nothing stopping me buying one, I suppose! Quote
Cuzzie Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 @Rexel matador - if you like the Schecter, then check out the G&L ASAT, they also do a semi hollow, its an absolute beast of a bass - i have one of each! GAS that never goes away for me is a Tech 21 dUg Ultrabass 1000 Its a Unicorn NIrvana Quote
40hz Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Having owned almost everything I've ever desired it leaves only one now. A Wal. Mk1. Shedua top. Only problems are a 22 month waiting list and £5000. :'( Quote
burno70 Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 After getting a Squire VM fretless jazz a few months ago I'm now all out gassing for a proper jazz - which is weird as I've never really liked them before but the squire's so lovely to play I'm burning for an upgrade - albeit a fretted one. Head's turned between a nice fender, the Flea sig really floats my boat, a Sadowsky, or a Marucyxyzyc;) Some cool examples of these in the marketplace for me to drool over but I'm being sensible - I won't have the funds till after Christmas. LewisK1975 Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 (edited) A sunburst Roadworn Jazz Unfortunately I'm only in a position to trade at the moment and the last couple that have come up have been sale only / non-receptive to my offer. sigh....... Edited November 29, 2016 by LewisK1975 Quote
28mistertee Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 A decent MIM P bass, wanting to go the BEAD route with it. Quote
If i didn't have one this would be top of my wish list. I love mine, it really does feel old (I have had early 60's Fenders so can compare). Good luck with the hunt. I'm now gassing for a 90's 'ray and a Modulus Flea It'll be something else next week though Quote
