I know it's been a running joke on this forum for some time now, but seriously -

What really IS the best bass for metal? Eh? Eh?

A difficult one to answer; as we all have different views and tastes. Here's my take on base metals, ymmv...

One could make a cast iron case for some of these. There are expensive ones for those with enough brass, but if you can cop a cheap one, it's a steal, and you can bronze in the sun with the money left over.

I'm afraid I didn't understand the rest of your post. Basschat rules..? Yes, indeed, we all know that, but if it makes you happy, I'll concur. Basschat rules, OK..? There, is that better..?

I am sure there must be a joke in there somewhere about bass, metal, gold, alchemy, but the correct combination of words is eluding me. Can someone put me out of my misery?

Surely it would be a bass with one string, one fret and then you wouldn't even need to bother with an amp either.

Something like this, you mean?

Of course, I'll oblige.
Just PM me your name and address.
Steel, copper or dum-dum?

I watched some footage from Download 2013 on tv and was pleasantly surprised at how many Warwicks were being used.
The Warwick midrange sound cuts through the distorted guitar crunch very well.

I've noticed that generally, too. Not the most obvious choice (or shape!) :)

This Bass seems to be particularly fond to Metal...

Not sure if 'fond' is the right word, there. ;)

That's my lack of english showing up, perhaps i should have used the word "bond" but i thought it could be a catalyst for somebody start making jokes about bondage...
