mikeh
The sandberg jm4 I had was close to 13lb, and weighed a ton after a 2 hour gig.
charic
That Mark King chap seems to be able to lift his up under his chin, so his must be the lightest...
He's actually holding it "down" with his chin you know? It's a helium bass
dlloyd
I have an old Yamaha BBN4 fretless that is incredibly light... I'm guessing around 5 to 6 lbs. I'll have to weigh it.
BassTractor
My Aria bass weighs next to nothing, and as a result I can't weigh it on my scales, as they need 4 kg as a minimum. Edit for spelling: Air bass! Edited September 12, 2013 by BassTractor
Musky
I'm not going to tell you about my '64 Hofner 500/1 Violin. You'd get jealous. Assuming you believed me.
Go on Jack, don't keep us in suspense. Under 6lbs?

fretmeister
Blimey. I might want a lighter bass now!

LukeFRC
My streamer is about 3780g - which is about 8lb 5oz. (same as fionn's) I used to have a Peavey T40 - great bass but I remeber realising it was just under twice the weight of the streamer

I've never weighed mine but they are pretty substantial.

duffer1
Lightest solid body must be the Ashbory which weighs in at approx 2lbs. Then again it does have plastic strings and bridge and a really short neck! It does work tho'

Funky Dunky
I had the privilege of playing a Wal at the superbly-named Ayr Guitar on Saturday, belonged the shop owner. I'm not up on Wal models but he said it's the same as Geddy Lee's. Anyway, it weighed the same as a fat raccoon holding a bowling ball. Just impractically heavy, no way could I wear that thing for anymore than a couple of songs. Amazing instrument, but unreasonably weighty. razze06
Allright then: T40 : 11 lbs exactly Westone thunder: 10.4 lbs CMI Ned Callan: 9.4 lbs All the others are much lighter, under 9 lbs. Lightest of the lot is the bassmaster funk, at 7.9. Not the most common choices in basses, i know...
ead
Bizarrely my basses seem to weigh either 9lbs or 7lbs according to the scales in ead towers. Nothing in between.

thisnameistaken
My 1991 Thumb 4 weighs considerably more than my mate's 1994 Stingray 5... The 'ray is so much bigger, it's quite unsettling.
AttitudeCastle
Russ (Binky on here) must have some heavy basses! Those ERB's can't be that light!
icastle
I have an ESP LTD 6 which weighs in at just under 15lbs. Fortunately, its extremely well balanced or it'd be unusable.
Lowender
For some reason, I find heavier basses sound better than light ones and lighter guitars sound better than heavy ones. Go figure.
Ashborygirl
My Alembic Mark King was 14lbs+ and left me with permanent shoulder damage. Dingwall AB1 - 7.1lbs
