So in the great tradition of BC thread titles ending in a question mark - Which All-Valve Power Amp?

Having just acquired an Ampeg SVP Pro (which I'm VERY pleased with - it's tone-tastic), I now have a yearning for the 'all-valve bounce' and having consulted the Google-thing, have come up with very few options.

The logical choice is the SVT 300 all-valver - which is a beast - but they are few and far between and the ones I've seen on the Bay and elsewhere are either a bit rough condition-wise or way too expensive.

What do you reckon? Suggestions, please.

Oh, and it should be rack-mountable. I realise this restricts the choices somewhat, but there it is.

Think Umph might have one of those SVT power amps.

Rack mount cuts options right down. Peavey ones, and Mesa Strategy.

Got a lovely burman slave amp that would do otherwise.

Just scored an immaculate Burman 501 1x12 guitar combo that sounds better than anything I've ever heard and it's a heavy bugger.
I would love to hear a Burman 4000 bass head and cab. I bet you could knock the Sun off its perch with one of those.

I would be looking at the strategy if my 400+ was ever 'not enough'. The fact that it is currently not working I suppose means another amp would be a good option. Don't think you'd regret the strategy, and certainly wouldn't regret an SVT-300 either

Mine sound very clean and full. I wouldn't say they're loud but you do get a lot of volume for 140w. I once kept up with a guitarists 50w Marshall but needed a 4x10 and 1x15 to do it.
