mtroun
I've recently switched to insTuner.

M-Bass-M
Another vote for Polytune. Peterson also do a strobe tuner app - iStroboSoft - which is an incredibly accruate tuner, if that's what you're looking for. A bit more expensive than the others though. Grand Wazoo
I also would agree that the Polytune of iPhone is great but... ha! there is an even better one out there and that is the iStroboSoft by Peterson strobo tuner with a suberb accuracy. TolerancEJ
I also own the iStroboSoft by Peterson. High degree of accuracy.
Biaeothanata-Bassist
Amplitube app does the job for me. Either that or the Dave Ellefson Rock shop one. Haven't tried the TC Poly Tune or iStrobo Peterson one, I might give them a go. But yeah, my recommendation is the Amplitube one
Jacqueslemac
I installed the HT6 FastTune app when it was free last Christmas. Works well enough.
Emanew
Cool question, kasbridge ! It would be great if we could know : What is the one which has the best value for money ? In other words, How much did you (all fellow groovers) pay for your iPh bass tuner ? Thanks
Yep, Ive got both and the Peterson one is better better, in that it seems more accurate. Mostly used when doing set ups. Thanks
I've bought the Polytune one during their lauch at the 50% introductory offer of £2.49 wheras the Peterson one was a bit dearer at £6.99 but then... both pedals will set you back a 100 notes each so... bargain
mtroun
I think insTuner is pretty good value for money (£2.49 I think) as it incorporates a strobe tuner. There's a review on NoTreble by Damian Erskine that convinced me to try it. Before that I was using Cleartune.
dave_bass5
I should add, the interface used also makes a difference. Most work better with something like iRig or JAM (JAM is better IME but cost a lot of money). I brought the Peterson interface when i first got the app, but ithat thing is waaay over priced for what it does.
guacamole
I've always been happy with Cleartune, great value for money, although recently I've been using the Strobalizer more and more because it's kind of practical. It bizarrely doesn't use sound at all just flashing strobe light from the LED and I actually find it more precise than the Cleartune. It does take a bit of getting used to though! Was still free last time I checked.

Roland Rock
Are people using the cable with the istrobosoft? Where can you get it?
dave_bass5
I brought the cable when it first came out. Its over priced although it works The problem with it is that its just an input, and takes over the headphoe socket. So although it works fine for a tuner you cant hear anything back so usless for recording.
dave_bass5
Forgot to add, if i can find mine you can have it if you want it.

I'll happily give you postage and a pint :-)
