A quick drop tuning question regarding the E string;

I have been using my Steinberger xm2 to drop tune to BEAD. I've had a quick noodle here and there, and am very happy with the setup.
Apparently, due to the way the Bergers necks are made the tuning this way is not a problem.

Question ; would a proper low B string fit in my bass? If so, would it make much of a difference to the way it's setup now?

In answer to the first part- you'd have to widen the slots in the nut to accommodate a bead tuning, but not in an mdp kinda way
Tbh, it might be easier to fit a new nut

Thanks for that. If it was a normal bass, I would take it to a tech and get truss rod adjusted and a new nut installed. But, it's a steinberger, so I'll probably leave it as is.
