Chiliwailer
Hi people just quick one how hard is it to refret my westie contacted a localish luthier said it was to time consuming to do any thoughts people any advice would be most welcome cheers kev
Hello mate, A decent luthier can do the job, but it isn't a quick one and it requires a luthier who is experienced. My thoughts are: Does the cost of the job fall in line with the value of the bass? Do you need side fret markers? (because they'd now be in the wrong place, in most cases). Is the bass really worth it, or should you do a swap? That's my 2 cents!
Grangur
a new Mighty Mite neck maybe a good solution. Its very possible a good luthier's time will cost more than a new neck.

Beer of the Bass
It's a job that any luthier should be able to do, but I think the issue is more the cost of the work (at most luthiers' hourly rate) is greater than the market value of the bass. It might make a good project if you wanted to learn how to do it yourself though.
kevvo66
I'm gonna have a go myself it's got the markers on the neck still so off to the shed I go. Cheers kev
