Jimbob01
Hi, I have an EBS 350 paired with a Neo 15 cab. I am experiencing an intermittent crackling (On seperate occasions) which seems to be coming from the tweeter. I have used it on two seperate gigs where this has happened. But on a couple of other gigs there has been no problem. I am wondering if this is caused by bad electrics at the venues(pubs) Anbody else have this issue?
EBS_freak
This can be caused by a intermittent ground in the amp. Has the amp ever been serviced? If not, give the amp a good clean and make sure all the screws holding down the boards are tight. There may be some traces of silicone over the screws which is used to keep the screws from turning. The silicone may have broken down. Clean it all off, tighten screws and replace the silicon (clear bath sealant will do it). If the venue electrics are noisy, you may get tweeter crackles. I've played a few venues where you can't do a lot about crackles. Anything with a tweeter (eg PA) can experience this. Dimmers and commercial fridges in close proximity are the top offenders.
