Thunderpaws Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 So, someone has asked me to be in a wee talent comp at the school I teach in, where the kids and teachers raise money for the chosen charity. Suggested song was Get Lucky, so I went on you tube to find a cover and hey presto....sh*t myself instead! RichF Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 (edited) this has already been posted and caused a minor fuss as some responded "meh" and others "wow". xgsjx Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Cool playing, but I recon he maybe had a couple of bad runs & spliced the best bits together. Quote
Lowender Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 It's great. Yeah, an obvious splice and the song lends itself to redundancy but what he did with the major theme was really cool. Quote

In fact, I may just give up bass altogether because given my attainment to date I don't think I'll live long enough to ever play like that. Quote
Cameronj279 Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Not a huge fan of how it sounds but technique wise the guys way better than I will ever be and I can appreciate that. Quote
ratman Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Although I'll never be able to do that, I have figured out a much simpler version. My left hand hammers the root notes, right taps the chorus melody. Put it all through a filter and boost the level a bit, ask the drummer to keep the kick going, and I've got a new breakdown section for the song on Saturday. Quote
KiOgon Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Yes - enjoyed that a lot & no i couldn't get close takes all sorts Quote

Thunderpaws Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 Makes me want to practice more. I don't even like daft punk. How am I supposed to find the time to get half that good?! Quote
