andydye Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 so far we've got mostly 4 strings (I reckon a drop tuner on the E would make for good flexibility) and frets as a preference and quite a few 'easy with whatever it turns out to be' type comments... Whatever it ends up as, it's a brilliant idea! and an excellent sales strategy too! Quote
paulpirie8 Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Well count me in for this too! You're based quite a distance from me so this would be an ideal way to try one out. 4 or 5 strings would be fine with me. Paul Quote
Skol303 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Nice idea! I don't gig, but would be keen to use it for a recording - maybe in collaboration with another BC'er in or around Manchester. Four string sounds like the best option for everyone (although my personal preference would be 5). Fretted or fretless is fine by me. Quote
such Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Count me in please! Either 4 or 5 strings, fretted or fretless works for me. Quote
Mr Lizard Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Good idea! I've been looking at the Alpher instruments recently, and would really like to try one. Count me in Quote

Cameronj279 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Never tried an Alpher although I've wanted to ever since I found out about them. This one sounds mighty pretty as well! Quote
longtimefred Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 cant wait for this. I keep an eye on the ones being built on FB and i am close to thinking one of these is next on the purchase list. Borrowing one for a few days might just seal it cant wait!!! Quote
CHRISDABASS Posted January 13, 2014 Author Posted January 13, 2014 Hey guys!! As always finalising the spec for a stock build is always a challenge! There are too many options I may end up building two basses along side each other then put it to a vote! That way you can decide which one goes on tour first haha I will uploads photos of the body and top wood soon Neck and fingerboard pics to follow once they arrive Quote
Si600 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Make one 4 and one 5er and send them out one after the other Quote

CHRISDABASS Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 just a quick update guys! We've become very busy lately so initially there was a delay in starting this build. Rest assured though that we have now started! We are actually going to make two, yes TWO basses and let you guys vote for the one that you'd like to see On Tour. Both have very different wood specs etc so i'm sure the voting will be interesting. Thanks to all who have shown interest so far! more update photos to come. cheers chris Quote
