wordsetcetera Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 (edited) Hello fellow chatters, I have an NSCR5M electric upright with endpin stand and tripod plus the more sturdy gig bag. Comes with a used set of the original strings, is currently sporting NS helicore hybrids tuned BEADG, I have a high C also, which will also be supplied with the bass. The bass has been gigged for the past two years, in a jazz environment, so has been reasonably well looked after. I will post pictures later today (if I can work out the fangled technology!?!). I am looking for £1100, or a very near offer. I can accept credit cards (not AMEX!) through my shop, or paypal, or even good ole foldin' cash. Can meet (for reasonable petrol costs) on the M25 for you London peeps, or anywhere between Dorchester and Cardiff on Friday or Sunday this week. I am based in Dorchester, Dorset. NOT looking for trades, sorry. If you want the best EUB, this is it. Ciao f'now, Simon Edited November 17, 2008 by wordsetcetera
Mace Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Oh man I really want this!! Need to check out the finances! Look forward to some photos!
wordsetcetera Posted June 18, 2008 Author Posted June 18, 2008 (edited) Now with added pics... Apologies for quality, some of you guys/gals make it look so easy. Cheers, Simon Edited June 18, 2008 by wordsetcetera
Frusty Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I have always thought these EUB's are one of the most beautiful instruments ever created. Good luck with the sale!
paul, the Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I love your shop. Downstairs is very cosy. It's been a while since I've been in, but on the most recent occasion Nina Simone was playing and it put me in a wonderfully congenial mood for the rest of the day. How about half in cash half in work?
wordsetcetera Posted June 19, 2008 Author Posted June 19, 2008 Well, I'm glad someone likes my shop...it's a bit quiet at the moment, pre-grockle season 'n' all. "How about half in cash half in work?" Man, if I was a rich philanthropist I would, sadly I'm not...rich that is! Simon
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 If I didn't already have a CR5M I'd be all over this. Wonderful instrument. The new prices for these seem to have shot up recently making this even more of a bargain.
wordsetcetera Posted June 24, 2008 Author Posted June 24, 2008 PMs replied... Also, I am going to be on holiday from Saturday 28th June 'til Thursday 10th July, plenty of saving/selling time... Simon
wordsetcetera Posted July 11, 2008 Author Posted July 11, 2008 Hello, I am back in sunny old blighty again!?! So, c'mon, you know you want it... Simon
wordsetcetera Posted October 7, 2008 Author Posted October 7, 2008 Hello folks, This is still for sale, if anyone's interested? Now £1100.00 Simon

Now £1100.00 Simon[/quote] Is it still available, and what do you mean by <reasonably well looked after>? Are we talking about surface burnishing where your thumb rested, or chips and dings from playing shoulder to shoulder on small stages? David

I'd love to live in a jazz environment, I'd probably get out of bed an hour before I went to sleep, eat breakfast through my arse and go to work in an office for a holiday. I hope the bass was exposed to less demanding surroundings?

You heard of "jazz cigarettes"? Well I was just having fun with the idea of a "jazz environment". Stand at ease, soldier.

I am not used to seeing "my arse" used in sentences that are not derogatory (or medical!). Perhaps I need to get out more...
wordsetcetera Posted October 27, 2008 Author Posted October 27, 2008 Hi, Jazz environment... to clarify, small duo/trio gigs with chilled people in wine bars/restaurants. It (the bass) has been well looked after, with general playing wear, no big dings, chips or any "damage". Simon
