ML94
Recently purchased a 6 string and have noticed that I have to change up my right hand plucking. Now from how I used to play was keeping my thumb fixed on the pickup or E string and just pivoting my hand dosen't work anymore. I've tried the floating thumb and the other technique using your 3rd and 4th finger to mute the other strings. My question is, is there any other techniques finger style wise that people would recommend or would you just say persevere with the technique ? lobematt
You might want to look at Damien Erskine's Right Hand Drive book, I don't play a 6r but I'm pretty sure he does (on occasion!). It's really cool though, it incorporates the thumb but its a really economical hand position.
