It's an old Fender Precision Special Deluxe I beleive is the full name, the passive version which I personally always preffered it has been fitted with a maple Jazz bass neck (Mighty Mite Replacement)- this is a top quality neck that I actually think is a lot nicer than the mexican necks. I got this bass after I sold my Modulus as a stop gap between basses, and it actually became my number 1 bass for a good year because it really plays like a dream, it plays much better than my modulus ever did. Considering the price these 'Specials' sell for I'd say anything around £400 would be a good price for this one. there are a few marks on it which you can see in the pictures but this is really a players bass. I have the original anodized pickguard if the buyer wants it and it comes with the moulded ABS case you can see in the photos. I can ship this bass using UPS, we can agree an overall price for this. But you are more than welcome to come have a cup of tea and try this bass and feel how well it actually plays for yourself. I'm based in Essex but I can also drive to you if you're not too far. I don't really want to sell this bass to be honest but I've found a gorgeous bass that I can't let slip. Any questions then just ask... karlfer Posted September 22, 2013 Share Posted September 22, 2013 The original neck on this bass would have been jazz dimensions despite the designation Precision Deluxe Special. Presumably it was changed out because it was rosewood board, or there was some kind of issue. I have had a couple of these, and in both of them the original necks were pretty damn special IMO. LiamD Posted September 22, 2013 Author Share Posted September 22, 2013 I bought it as just the body from preloved and got the neck seprate shortly afterwards and got it professionally fitted, the neck was brand new and boxed about 18 months ago. This is still the most beautful bass to play. When it comes to price I will of course accept offers, I'm not sure really where to value it at because of the neck so let me know what you think.
