timmo Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 I don`t quite understand how headphone amps work. You plug your bass into the earphone amp, where do you plug the earphone amp to get the sound, or is it just a self contained unit that you can just play anywhere? If so, are they any good? Quote
paul_5 Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 My favourite is the EHX one. Metal case and self-contained. Jack input and a 1/8" headphone socket. It's got a 9v battery inside (a normal PP3 one) that last ages. To turn the amp on simply plug your headphones in - unplugging them turns it off. http://www.hotroxuk.com/electro-harmonix-headphone-amp-personal-practice-amplification.html?utm_source=GoogleBase&utm_medium=organic&gclid=CLzFoLGT5LkCFaTLtAodMF4AoQ I keep mine with a short 1/4" to 1/4" lead in my gig bag. In answer to your last question: yes, they're brilliant. Quote
redbandit599 Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 I just last night ordered some headphones and Nux PG1, bit of a punt really (but I wanted to plug in my MP3 player and fancied the metronome function.) timmo Posted September 24, 2013 Author Posted September 24, 2013 Thanks for the replies. I will have to buy one. The Nux PG1 looks interesting. Can you give your thoughts on it when you have had a reasonable go on it please Quote
ead Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 (edited) Tascam Bass Trainer fan here. Same principle I guess. If you want a posh one then [sfx] do one: http://www.sfxsound.co.uk/mainpage.asp?page=home Edited October 7, 2013 by ead Quote
andyonbass Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Am I correct in thinking you can get a gadget that enables you to plug into your i-phone? Are they any good? Quote
