Pasco Jacorius Posted November 30, 2014 Author Posted November 30, 2014 It still over there , it was a pain to find a case where the bass would fit due to her dimension. Tom went for a monocase vertigo , which was the best choice IMO. More news soon. Quote
Pasco Jacorius Posted March 4, 2015 Author Posted March 4, 2015 (edited) Many things have happened since last time I posted. The bass was about to leave the warehouse , but one of the stew... truss broke ..Tom was mad , I was disapointed. It seems that it wasn't the first time it happened with this brand , he hasn't forced yet it broke. Anyway , after some : fretboard (and veneers) unglueing , returning back to the good old single truss rod in the middle (but another carbon rod in the neck) , putting back new veneers , then a new piece of ebony as a fretboard , shaping my initials again , sanding , putting the frets , and re-finishing the body (finish had suffered some damages during the process). She's now stabilizing again and waiting for final setting , this time it's a different truss rod brand. But I'm still waiting . Edited March 4, 2015 by Pasco Jacorius Quote
EBS_freak Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Aw man, sad to hear the mishap! Good to hear you've sorted it though! Quote
mixingwithtom Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 This is why I have truss rod paranoia!! Am surprised it's not easier to buy really great ones in Europe, choices seem limited. Anyone got suggestions? Other than that, what an amazing bass and can't wait to hear/see the finished instrument and know how you find the scale length etc Quote
Dazed Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 You sir have the patience of a saint! Really hope it's with you soon Quote
Pasco Jacorius Posted March 20, 2015 Author Posted March 20, 2015 It's supposed to be there very soon. But when ? That's the question. Quote
PlungerModerno Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Yes - it's unfortunate the truss rod had to go bad - but better before than after delivery! Hope it arrives shortly, and without issues. Quote

Pasco Jacorius Posted April 1, 2015 Author Posted April 1, 2015 I'm not familiar with the instrument yet , but from what I've seen this is a winner. Quote

Pasco Jacorius Posted April 7, 2015 Author Posted April 7, 2015 (edited) A little comparison with the warwick , the marceau has a slightly more play time but it gives a good impression of the character of the two beasts ! The Singlecut sounds more vintage with that "woody", warm feel , the warwick sounds more modern. The Marceau is switched to single coil (Marceau Pickups) ,alnico 2 magnets here, full passive / warwick is passive anyway , but ceramic magnets (MEC passive , dynamic correction). I don't know what part wood has in the sound , but the ash bodied 'wick definitely has a mid scoop when compared to the sapele bodied Marceau when played acoustically..When plugged it seems that magnets and pickups placement have a big impact but don't erase the acoustic properties of the basses. They definitely have their own identity. (And yes , strings are rotosound swing 66 on both basses) https://www.youtube....h?v=E27ygPNmB2E Edited April 7, 2015 by Pasco Jacorius Quote
