Help! I'm designing some business cards for my band and I want to put on there which genre of music we play. We're an originals band and have usually used "blues rock" to describe ourselves but I'm not sure now as some of our stuff is not bluesy and not quite rock.

Have a listen to some of our tracks and let me know what you think we should describe ourselves as: https://soundcloud.com/beautiful-skin

There are some varied tracks on there, for example The Flow is very different from Industrial Machine.

Indeed neither are blues or rock.
Can't think of anything better than 'guitar-pop',or the almighty 'contemporary'.

Some good stuff there. Not much evidence of blues there for me, although I'd guess that the guitarist is a big Zep fan :-)

How about "melodic indie rock"

Edit, as per an above post, I did think of folk as well in some places

Why thank you, I'm assuming that was a complement. I'm not particularly a Zep fan but I always liked em. I saw them twice with the original line up.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions everyone! We're thinking either indie rock or alt rock describe us best. I favour indie rock as alt rock to me means Faith No More etc.
