As soon as I saw this bass I had to have it. One of my favourite colour/wood combinations and not a single piece of tort in sight :D

This is a 2007 built Mex Jazz bass in olympic white with rosewood fretboard.

I would describe the condition as good for its age. There are a few dinks here and there ( none of which were caused by me if you've seen my thread on this subject ;) )

The bass has been set up and is ready to play. I did realise as I was taking the pictures that I hadn't set the intonation, whoops. I have changed the bridge from the original to a Wilkinson one with brass saddles as a couple of the screws were slightly rusty but nothing out of the ordinary - I simply hate anything looking dirty or worn inthe slightest. I have also polished the frets and given the fretboard a good clean with lemon oil.

I also have a Hipshot D-tuner fitted as about a third of the songs I play with my band require a low D. Sound is typical Jazz and I have it fitted with a set of roto flats as I haven't used rounds in about 5 years. The silk has come off at the headstock end but they've still got years of life left in them. I gave them a good wipe with an Ernie Ball cleaning wipe prior to fitting them.

I am looking for around £360 which includes the fitted Wilkinson and original bridge, the D-tuner plus original tuner with bushing and screws, the roto flats and the fitted hard case complete with keys which is virtually brand new. Collection or postage welcome. I expect it to cost around £12 to post within the UK mainland and can get quotes for anywhere further afield.

And now, lots of pictures:

For the first time in a long time there's absolutely nothing that I want or need.
It's a really strange feeling

Congratulations matey, it's an enviable state!! I'd like to give a jazz another go as I've always been underwhelmed by the sound but Im' sure I'm missing something...everyone appears to rate them highly...

I think the correct word looking for is satisfaction - satisfaction that after 90+ basses, dozens of amp, cabs, effects, strings etc I'm really happy with what I have interms of sounds, looks, playability and grin factor when I'm playing.

Don't get me wrong, this bass sounds fantastic and I used for a few songs at the weekend but its no longer the sound I'm looking for. In fact I had it running with the neck pickup on full and bridge slightly down contrary to what a lot of others do and I preferred the sound. Nice bassy tone but still very clear.

Well I did take this to tonight's gig and all I can say is wow.

I was playing through the house backline which is an Ampeg PF500 and an Ampeg cab that sounds like it is full of cotton wool - at least that's how it makes you sound

Although it did not sound as good as it would through my setup I was very impressed with it.

Playability is fantastic. It was an effortless gig and I found the funk that had been hiding since I began my rock phase a couple of years ago B)

If it's still here on Saturday then I'll be gigging it. I believe the backline supplied is an SVT Pro II and 8x10" although I'll still take my own just in case I don't get on with it

I've been asked to provide some sound clips so go easy on me, its the first time I've done this.

They were recorded on the Jazz using the Rotoround Flats directly into a Line6 Backtrack. I haven't touched the recordings (wouldn't know how to  ) and they include all mistakes.

Sir Duke & Kansas were with bridge volume full and neck slightly rolled off, Hey Bulldog was the opposite way round and there's a wee jam thing in there where I swap from one to the other

This is still for sale - the guy who was interested in it accused me of being dodgy because I offered to meet up with him in a car park to make it easier for him to get to me. Very angry right now

Of course - here's my car, you can clearly see the registration, there are cameras in the car park, you can clearly see me so the obvious next move is to bludgeon you to death with a tyre iron

Bumtree seems to attract a lot of tyre kickers and crackpots
