DorsetBlue
Cool look. All you need now is an orange Ford Focus ST to go to gigs in.
Or a KTM.
Jimryan
Ok, last Saturday I dropped it off at the shop and told it'll be ready by Friday. Got down there Friday evening...not ready yet, will have it done by close on Saturday. So I ring up yesterday, no luck "it'll be ready Monday" so, I'm hoping to have it by tomorrow. Jimryan
The knobs have landed from Seymour Duncan and will apparently be with me tomorrow :-D So hopefully, they'll be here, fitted tomorrow night and I can finally get some pictures up of the finished product. yepmop
Really good job on that Jim, well done, how does it sound?
Jimryan
In passive, only the MM works, but when active, the whole thing is amazing, great precision sounds from the neck, and some great MM and jazz sounds from the bridge and when combined. It's a little heavy compared to my Precision, but love it. Tony, you're welcome to have a go some time. I need to pop down your way to deliver a bass soon. yepmop
Hi Jim I'd love to have a play on it and you're more than welcome to pop down, I've almost completed a 59 ish P bass build, but not to level you've done on your jazz though. Get some covers for it...black ones I like the gold plate.
yepmop
I'm waiting for the vintage saddles to arrive (the ones with lots of grooves in them, the current BBOT is from a 57 RI but the saddles are incorrect). Replace the Fender Jazz decal that's on the neck (It's a Mighty Mite precision neck) with an authentic 50s one I have. Not sure if I will put the Vintage reverse tuners on it as it was a really PIA when I added them on my 62 ish P bass build, you have to chisel/drill extra holes, plus they are quite expensive. I'm still undecided about covers, I have them on my 62 which look very cool, so will have a think about it. The pickup is a customised hand wound one from a guy in Spain, lovely sound on it
shaneybaby
very impressive and also inspiring. makes me wanna buy a cheap one and make it my own. im doing something similar with my squire p bass but only keeping the body slab and getting new every else including the neck. Seymour pups in and a fresh lease of life!
