Not a fan of the studs but I can't say I hate the leather texture. It should be studded round the back if you ask me.

Leather on instruments has been around for years - Elvis. Waylon Jennings etc but tends not to work on bass. I had a guitar phase a few years back that resulted in me getting a tele made in the Waylon style leather. It looked great. When I returned to bass I had a leather pickguard made for my 51 p bass and it looked awful. Superbly made, it just didn't work

Euggh can you imagine playing a bass with a leather neck? It would make it quite difficult to play as your hand wouldn't slide against it very well.
