I am the lucky owner of an old '69 Telecaster bass.

When it came to me it hadn't got the original scratch plate.

What I'd like is to source a replica, problem being I don't have the original.

Can anyone recommend someone who could do it and would I need to find someone who has an original to trace?

+1 for the Bass Doc. Howard just refinished my Telecaster bass, and made a beautiful aged looking scratch plate. I doubt you'll need an original - Howard knows all when it comes to Fender stuff!

What colour is your bass? Ive got a nitro plate that has turned slightly creamy - might be suitable for you?

EDIT - actually, I've just looked, the 69 has a different screwhole layout from my mid 50s style. Sorry bud.

Bit of a longshot;

After a quick chat with Howard it seems we need a template,

So do any of you lovely people on Basschat have an original Tele bass (68 / 69) scratch plate they could trace?
