Hank Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 (edited) Hi Just got out my Ashdown electric blue combo, not used it for a while. Played two notes and power completely died. Fuse in plug is fine so I'm guessing its the fuse below the power switch....yes? Cheers Hank Edited October 1, 2013 by Hank Quote
Ashdown Engineering Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Check the fuse under the power socket first but there are also internal fuses so if no joy call Guy on 01245 441155 and we will get it sorted for you I am sure. Quote
Hank Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 Hiya Just tried a new fuse and it blew straight away. Quote
VTypeV4 Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Seems you have an offer of help from Ashdown themselves so I'd take it. Fuses blowing twice sounds like potential trouble to me, maybe an issue with the power stage or supply problems. Once might be a freak occurance but twice is telling you something isn't right. Good luck with it and keep us posted. Quote
Hank Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 Spoke to Guy at Ashdown, seems it could be the mains transformer that has gone. Quote
VTypeV4 Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 It may well be, a friend had a Trace V-type combo that had a fried transformer which did the same. Did they so how much it was to replace the transformer? Quote
Hank Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 I think it was about £30 for a new transformer. Got a friend(who had totally slipped my mind) who going to have a look at it for me first. Quote
Ashdown Engineering Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Whereabouts do you live Hank? If you can get to Chelmsford we will happily get the amp sorted for you while you wait Quote

skychaserhigh Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Great customer service there. A good reason to buy from a British company knowing your stuff can be sorted quickly. Quote
Hank Posted December 18, 2013 Author Posted December 18, 2013 Spoke to Guy yesterday and ordered a new mains transformer. Just got home from work and there it is at home. Thanks Guy and Ashdown. Great service. Quote
Beedster Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Nice one Ashdown, great to see such a quick and helpful response Chris Quote
stevie Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Ashdown's customer service is amazing. I emailed them once with a problem and had an answer from the MD within 20 minutes. Most companies seem to bin emails nowadays. Or charge you premium rate to call them. Keep it up, Ashdown. People notice! Quote
rOB Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Nice one Ashdown. Glad OP got sorted quick and easy. Quote
paulbass Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 I wish Trace Elliot provided good service like this when i had a problem with one of their amps...fair play to Ashdown! Quote
