Silvia Bluejay Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Current gigs would be better, but the first post is OK as an introduction of the band (Clarky and Ou7shined have done more or less the same in their threads ) Quote

Billy Apple Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 (edited) In the absence of Silvia, the official Junkyard Dogs picture maker, I thought I'd step up to the plate and unleash the Hasselblad. So without further a-do the JYD's rock it up in Slough! Edited October 12, 2013 by Billy Apple Quote
Silvia Bluejay Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Yay! Great stuff Thanks Sean! Hope you all had a good time. I'll be back behind the camera for the 70s night in Burnham on 26th Quote
Billy Apple Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 It was a right good crack. The Bones and I had had a long day, so had to bail before the end though . The band were sounding great and Jacks bass was stand-out superb. He had a real Mowton/Stax sound going on and the Matamp/69'er/Lull combo shined through. I kept saying to Bones 'Cor, Jacks bass sounds really good' The band really seemed to enjoy themselves and the the punters were up and dancing. Come, friendly Dogs, and reign on Slough! Quote
Oopsdabassist Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 ooh which venues in Slough do you play? we did a private party in the Herschel Arms last year, only a small place but a great Oirish pub, the craic was brilliant! Luckily I stayed over that night so was drinking the night away after the gig!! Quote

As I mentioned the sound on stage was wildly different from what you were hearing near the bar. I'm glad the bass sounded good because my voice was completely shot to hell. I shouldn't have inflicted it on the audience. Quote
We tried to break into the Rising Sun but we were never rocky enough, and only have a couple of tattoos between us! We've played the Freak Jam when it was (briefly) at the Olde Swan in Burnham, and we've now landed a gig there (a 70s night - yay!). We'd like to build on that. Last night was our first gig at the Red Cow, and again we hope to get repeat bookings. Quote

Silvia Bluejay Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Thanks Nige The corner where the guys were asked to set up was too small for them to bring their light show, so my camera had to do with the very limited amount of light already there. 'Twas great fun, though Quote

Happy Jack Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 Aye, 'twas a gyrating-tottytastic night alright. Although someone had to tell me afterwards what "twerking" is ... And the evening started with the Manager saying "But you can't bring a drumkit in here!". Oh yes, and we received not one but two requests for Sweet Home Alabama, both from ladies who weren't even born when the plane went down. Quote
Silvia Bluejay Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Right, next time you know what new song to prepare for the gig Quote
