Annoying Twit Posted October 7, 2013 Author Posted October 7, 2013 (edited) There's a precision bass being sold by the same seller. But, it isn't a precision bass with a single jazz pickup. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Precission-Bass-/251353614567?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item3a85d7c8e7 I do like the black finishes, and they make a visually interesting pair. davehux Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Out of curiosity, was it produced by Fender like that, or has someone got a router and a couple of P pups for their birthday Quote
johnDeereJack Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I believe this is a Blacktop Jazz Bass. http://www.fender.com/series/blacktop/blacktop-jazz-bass-rosewood-fingerboard-black/ Quote
The Dark Lord Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I really ought to buy both of these as accessories for the dungeons in The Fortress of Ultimate Darkness. I'll try to resist. Quote
Annoying Twit Posted October 7, 2013 Author Posted October 7, 2013 I wonder if there is a 'Disaster Area' bass guitar around, with black finish, black pickguard, black tuners, bridge, and nut, black nylon coated strings, and an ebony fretboard. Fretless, unless you can buy black fretwire. (It seems that you can't). Black dots. Quote
FlatEric Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Slap a couple of old DiMarzio pups in there and you would have a Serious Rockin' Bass - I always wondered why Fender didn't think of this - looks like they got round to it! Cheers. Quote

But I haven't got around to swapping the Affinity neck for some a little better and blacker... Quote

clashcityrocker Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 That precision headstock doesn't look quite right to me,also the nut looks jazz width. I could be totally wrong,it's been a long Monday Quote

I have one and its an awesome bass. Very hot sound and somewhere soundwise in between a Precision,a really fat but zingy Jazz and theres a mutant Stingray lurking in there too. Massive bottom end but a great warmth too. Its a Jazz neck BTW. The picture angles make it look a bit odd but its a standard jazz body and neck just with different pickups. Annoying Twit Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 If I sell a bass, I'll be taking it to the lobby of my local GPs. Wonder if I'll get any looks weighing a bass guitar on their scales Quote

Its an easy 3 hour gig bass and really comfy to play. If you want to try one, I am just up the M11 near Harlow - you're welcome to pop round one evening. If you can pick that up for £350 its a bargain imho. Edited October 9, 2013 by Mudpup Quote
