Put a Cheeky Gibson logo on it but apart from looks this is nothing like one In great condition had a thumb rest fitted but I don't use them so I left it off, plays and sounds amazing and comes with a brand new HSC.Not looking for any trades at the moment and this bass will be followed by a '81 Aria SB1000 next week Edited June 27, 2008 by Geddys nose
Exile252 Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Wow that is a nice bass if I say so myself. Loving the wood finish. Have a bump on me.
Dread Bass Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Are you left or right handed? i thouught you were a lefty is this bass a lefty aaagghhh confused
Geddys nose Posted June 19, 2008 Author Posted June 19, 2008 Sorry about the confusion the Ricks a Lefty but the SG's a Righty (Don't play the Ric just selling it) The scale is 34' and it is a lovely neck Warmoth make the best necks IMO.
GreeneKing Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Nice bass and +1 on the Warmoth necks. 2 Darkstars!! Good value too it'd cost a fair bit more than £500 to put this together. Coincidentally I've just put a Darkstar in my Warmoth P this very day Thread with photo to follow: Peter
Geddys nose Posted June 19, 2008 Author Posted June 19, 2008 (edited) Darkstars deserve all the hype they get just 'cause they are great pickups,I've just ordered one for my Fecker P copy. Edited June 19, 2008 by Geddys nose
minty fresh death Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Don't suppose you have any sound clips? I've no idea what darkstars sound like!
Ant Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 what's the tone like? if you can compare it to anything?
Geddys nose Posted June 20, 2008 Author Posted June 20, 2008 There a few sound clips of DS's here- http://www.basspickup.com/soundclips1.htm Steve you made a great job of this I think you could make a living at this.
Geddys nose Posted June 20, 2008 Author Posted June 20, 2008 The tone of it is very fat because of the Walnut/DS's but with the Audere you can get any tone but what I really like is the Z switch it just makes so many tones in its own right without even touching the EQ's.
Kev Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 bet that bass sounds brilliant, shame about the gold hardware though  lovely bass otherwise
Geddys nose Posted June 27, 2008 Author Posted June 27, 2008 Really happy you like it Dave hope it give your ACG a run its money
Scoop Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008
Really happy you like it Dave hope it give your ACG a run its money
I got a short notice call (four hours) to do a depping gig with a rock covers band tonight - playing a biker's rally - so took it along together with my KSD jazz. I used the KSD for most of the night as I'm familiar with it and I've used this bass for deps with this band before (so it knows the songs ) but I used the Warmoth for a couple of numbers. Big sound. Nice bass. Very nice indeed.
