I reckon it doesn't. I know the original ABMs were badged as Ashdown Bass Magnifiers but this isn't one of them. Anyway, I contacted the seller to let him know but he says he can definitely see some sort of valve in there. Can anyone shed some light on it? AFAIK the MAG series never had hybrid pre-amps. It's Ashdown's budget range and much of the cost saving compared to the ABMs was achieved by taking out all the bells and whistles. [/quote] haha only if he offers me £50 cash in my hand to take it away otherwise it's doubtful on a semi-serious note – if the seller’s a studio who is getting rid of a lot of gear then surely they know it’s not a hybrid, and if they genuinely know sh*t all about this amp then 5mins of google research could be worthwhile rather than guessing or making a sweeping claim that it might be an all valve combo or a hybrid based solely on the fact that he looked in the back and saw something like might have looked a bit like something that could have possibly represented the shape of a valve…shocking from people who should know better IMO.
