edstraker123
I picked up a Spectorcore from BassDirect on a special offer last night and am deliberating which strings to put on it. I pretty much just play LaBella Deep Talkin' flats on my other basses but thought something brighter might work better on this bass. Anybody got any thoughts ? Should I go rounds for a change ? The bass looks like this but certainly won't sound like this in my hands ! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KpwaFrXsRLc&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DKpwaFrXsRLc
BassBus
Is it fretted or fretless? I have a fretless model and have used flats, halfwounds and it is currently strung with TI Jazz Flats. If you're used to flats you might not get on too well with the lighter tension of the TIs. Halfwounds just brought it alive so if yours is fretted I'm sure those or rounds would do fine. Flats would be fine too, just too high a tension for me.
edstraker123
Hi, it's fretted , hadn't considered halfwounds - I'll check some out.
Mog
I use D'Addario EXL 170's on mine. I found Stainless Steel strings were too bright. Haven't tried flats yet but I'm sure they would sound good.
