Just checking out an awesome website called the WayBackMachine which indexes old websites and is really interesting........I tried the old Bassworld.co.uk site and here it is...

It's weird looking back and remembering what it was like.... I LOVE basschat now, but bassworld was really cool and had a great vibe. Check it out for some Tuesday night bass forum nostalgia :-)

The WayBackMachine preserved bits of the site I put up for a drama group in 1996, which I was rather proud of, as most of the members weren't on the internet then.

Things have certainly sprouted arms & legs since then. I wasn't a member back then, but when I first joined BC there was usually a max of about 15 users online at any one time.
I remember there was a surge in guest activity where it went over 100 & Dood confirmed that it was bot activity.

What I find extraordinary about that link is how FEW of those people are still with us, or at least posting here.

I remember most of those login names, but I think only one, maybe two (apart from Ped and Kiwi) have been seen recently ... by me anyway.

I was a bassworld member before chat but I think I was only on b-world for about two years before it folded and chat replaced it. I don't rememebr which year the changeover happened so not sure if I go back as far as 2005, it's possible. When was the very first gathering at that pub near the M1 in Northampton happened? I was a memebr then.
Edit just checked bc came in 2007 so I may well go back as far as the 2005 page shown on waybackmachine. Feeling older than ever...
