backwater
I'm looking at refinishing my 1978 Fender precision in wine red but it seems to be a fairly rare colour. I'm trying to get an idea of how the bass in this colour looks and how dark the red is (and is it solid or transparent?). Anyone fancy sticking some photos of theirs up to give me an idea? Thanks Andy
john_the_bass
Do you mean Midnight Wine? Seems to be a MiM colour - I had a MiM Jazz in Midnight Wine. It's solid btw
SJA
I added a pic of Tim Butler's 70's P in your rebuild thread, it looks solid red from a distance, but the grain becomes apparent closeup. here's one from google image search- http://www.vintage-guitars.se/1980_Fender_...ion_Bass_WR.jpg and a strat- http://www.guitarsandeffects.com/images/b379wine.jpg I saw a 70's P in that colour in vintage & rare a couple of years ago.
