JapanAxe Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 (edited) Our cat Marshall - coincidentally as big, black and heavy as a Marshall cab - just wandered into my music room to inform me it was biscuit time, and started into my BF midget with his claws. Little git! Fortunately he went for the paint finish rather than the silver grille cloth, so no visible damage was done. I have warned him that I could do with a pair of furry slippers. Actually the best way to keep him away is to play bass - low frequencies send him running for cover behind the sofa. Here is a picture of him in a stupid-looking pose. He is dim but loveable - provided he keeps his claws off my kit! Edited October 11, 2013 by JapanAxe Quote

KevB Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Maybe you could have him fitted with castors instead? Quote

steve-bbb Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 maybe you could coat the cabs with that sticky anti-climb paint that'll learn him Quote
chriswareham Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 One of mine loves to claw the grille cloth on my 15" cab. He has a look of sheer contentment as he does it, eyes half closed and purring. If I shout at him he just seems to dig his claws in a bit harder in anticipation of being unceremoniously removed from the room ... Quote
Lfalex v1.1 Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 ALL cats love anything to do with moving-coil loudspeakers. I base this on the condition of the grille cloth on my stereo speakers, cinema subwoofer and Trace Elliot cabinet carpet covering... Quote
SpaceChick Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 You should see the state on my PJB cab covers thanks to my youngest cat, Sophie!! This does not bode well for my barefaced when it arrives Marshall is quite a gorgeous puss cat though Quote
SpaceChick Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013
Get rid of the cat then.
I can't believe you could say that when you've met the cat..... Shame on you Wayne! Quote

JapanAxe Posted October 11, 2013 Author Posted October 11, 2013 I'm glad Marshall can't read this! I keep my music room door closed when I'm not in it. Marshall is allowed to claw 2 things in the house: the magazine basket (gets replaced annually) and an old pouffe in the conservatory (c'mon folks, you're better than that). His paws are like gorilla's hands, so if he claws something, it stays clawed! I just don't like to shout at him as he is a timid soul.
Marshall is quite a gorgeous puss cat though
This too Quote
icastle Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 I had 29 of them a year or two back. They totally destroyed my house and various bits of musical equipment. I do have a soft spot for them though... ...Romney Marsh... Quote
waynepunkdude Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Should never let a Marshall in the music room. Quote
lee650 Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 my New Kitten Simba, has a thing for attacking the cover on my Bergantino, so I have to put a blanket over it, as I don't like the cover getting ruined my other two two cats Tinker and Belle are a lot better behaved and just attack furniture, er and loo rolls - lol Quote

TomWIC Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Could be worse. Your cat could've found a way inside your cab like mine did a few months ago! The little tart woke me up from meowing; she managed to get in but couldn't get out. Quote
