andybassdoyle
There have been a few questions about the hole under the controls. It used to house a coil tap but this was removed when the original pre was replaced with an East model. I've installed a dummy switch to cover the hole. Cheers Abd
4 candles
Andy is a great guy to deal with and the sei bass is truly out of this world. A super, super jazz and a sterling example of craftsmanship of the highest order.

reggieboomboom
Do you need a right nut? Cos I would give my right nut for it, or the left, whichever you prefer! 😉
dafonky
Does it have a 60'ies or a 70'ies Jazzbass sound or sth between? Thanks
andybassdoyle
Cheers guys. First up I'm OK for nuts right now but thanks for the offer. Sound wise it's difficult to say but I would describe it more as a modern j sound. If you tapped the humbuckers you might get something a bit more traditional I guess... In the ear of the beholder I think!
dafonky
Ok thanks....is it possible to use the humbuckers as single coils and get a more traditional single coil jazzbass sound ? Edited October 28, 2013 by dafonky
andybassdoyle
In short I don't know. My understanding is that the previous owner changed the preamp to an East model and at the time removed the coil tap. I've done nothing to the bass other than fit a dummy switch to cover the old hole! 4candles was the prior owner and may be able to advise.... 4000
Every time I see this I want it and I don't even like Jazzes. Absolutely stunning. Makes me wish I'd gone ahead with my Sei order instead of giving in to my Wal Pro (which I've still to pick up...)
