Update - £SOLD:
Unfortunately, I'm losing the motivation to play/practice at the moment – after a couple of abandoned projects that have I invested a lot of time, money and effort into and nothing new on the horizon I'm having a mass clear out.

I previously traded this bass but bought it back as I missed it.
This is going from the collection as, not being the tallest person, I prefer smaller bodied basses.
May trade, if it is for something that means I'd sell something else from the collection.

CIJ Fender Jazz Bass 75 Reissue. – JB75

Great condition no marks to speak of anywhere on the bass.
A lovely 3 Tone sunburst.
Rosewood board, block inlays and white bound neck.

If I may copy and paste from Dood's recent Precision advert:
"If you are not aware, the non-export models are Japan's premium instruments that aren't meant to be out in Europe as they clash with Fender's USA models".

The bass has been upgraded with:

Nordstrand Jazz pickups - NJ4SE - Humbucking split coil. These are a split coil hum cancelling pickups.
http://www.bassdirec...nd_Pickups.html

Pre amp - Stacked Vol Vol / Stacked Treble Bass / Tone (push/pull for passive to bypass the active EQ and revert to a standard Jazz control of Volume, Volume, Tone)

Hipshot A style bridge.

Copper Shielded Cavities.

These upgrades have taken an already fantastic bass to a new level - into super Jazz terriotory.

I also have the Japanese manual and small swing stamped certificate.

Can send more pictures of anything if required.

As always, any trial or inspection is welcome.

wow fantastic
I can attest to how good this set up sounds, although mine is a JV with nordstrands and an east pre, I bet this bass is a match for any sadowsky metro
beautiful bass, you have so many great basses for sale :)

Played this tonight. Lovely bass great pre amp system on it. Unusually for a Japanese 75 ro it does not weight the same as the Clifton Suspension bridge.
Lovely bass, top fella.

Aaaargh, what have you done! I'm watching this one now :)

You're right. It's in the super-jazz zone.

Binding and pearl blocks are the sole reason why I've never fulfilled the romantic notion of having a Jazz from my birth year. But this RI makes me wonder a bit. Hmmmmm.

Still here - in response to questions via PM - spacing between the pickups is 3.5" polepiece to polepiece.
Not entirely sure what the difference is or the influence on sound.
Most sounds can be coaxed from the active Nordstand Pre or can revert to classic J set up of Vol, Vol, Tone by pulling the tone knob out.

Hi Bagsieb,
Do you know what the difference is between these non import models and the 75 reissues Thomann are selling?
Quality is probably the answer, but do you have any concrete examples of differences?
Stunning looks btw

Happy new year,

Phil

Argh! Another fabulous Jazz, just when I am in the market for something else..... lol
What a fab looking bass :)
Although I've never played one, I've heard a lot of people raving about how good these non-export Japan basses are
..... drool.....

The weight is coming out at 4kg.

Some potential trade offers currently out there in BC land but preference is for a straight sale.

This really is a beauty! I am very interested but wondered if you could answer a couple of things?

What is the nut width, the neck width at 24th fret, the neck thickness at first fret and neck thickness at 12th fret? Also, does this fret board have a radius, or is it flat (looks to have a radius from the pics)?

Sorry to be a pain, but I've recently discovered that I'm much more comfortable playing flatter wider necks :)

Cheers!
