Unusual Jazz Bass

A local pawn shop has an unusual Fender Jazz bass. The bass has two humbucker pickups, each being a paired Jazz pickup. The headstock has a 'Fender Jazz Bass' logo, but that is the only writing. There's no 'made in' information or other detail on the headstock. The headstock is finished in that orangey slightly sticky looking thick finish.

What is this?

Sounds like a Modern Player. I'm playing one in my profile pic

Yeah, that's more like it.

It's a modern player.

They were selling it for £300. I wondered if it was a bargain, but wouldn't have risked buying it myself as I don't have the knowledge not to risk being sucked in by a fake. At a new price of £364 at GAK, I suppose that £300 isn't too bad. It's a very nice looking bass. Made in China, google tells me.

Thanks for the answers.
