Can anyone suggest reliable online suppliers of somewhat-specialist nuts and bolts?

I'm after some M4 and M5 black dome-socket head machine screws (or just black pozi pan head machine screws, but I'd prefer the socket head ones)

I ordered some from a supplier I found via google, and no dispatch or communication after a week so considering cancelling and ordering elsewhere.

Surely there must be some major online suppliers of fixings/fasteners? (Note I know about screwfix, toolstation etc, but they don't stock black finish machine screws)

Need these to finish off my DIY cab build, so any pointers appreciated! :)

You'll probably find there's a decent supplier close to you.. I know of two local to me, but I live in Yorkshire!
I just Googled 'nut and bolt suppliers hampshire' and brought up loads.

Thanks, I did call a couple but they didn't have what I needed (it's the black finish that's problematic), so decided it would be easier to trawl the internet instead of phone book ;)

The online supplier has just mailed me saying dispatched, a week after ordering, so I guess I'm sorted now but I won't be using them again.

Small quantities, I use ebay, big suppliers don't consider it worth their time to work in the dozens. Turns out one big wholesale supplier scrapped their BA stock because no-one ordered in large enough quantities for it to be worth storing. I wanted to buy a few hundred so I'd never run out for amps and be able to see sets on ebay.

True, but that can sometimes work in your favour. I once needed a few large UNC bolts and went to a local 'big supplier' who was happy to give me half a dozen for free. Another time I needed some large stainless steel studding and nuts and the same place gave me four one-metre lengths and a bag of s/s nuts and washers for a tenner (no receipt needed of course ;) ).

I've also found the same thing when looking for short lengths of steel box section or angle. Find a local steel fabricator and they'll have loads of offcuts lying around. I once filled up my estate car with such offcuts for a tenner to the appropriate person.

I do find it works best if I turn up in a dirty, greasy boiler suit though. :D

Check out ProBolt

I've used them a lot in the past, for Titanium fasteners for my Trials Bike.

No minimum quantity, very reliable, and they sell Titanium!

thank you please

Thanks for the suggestion, but they have to be some of the most expensive bolts I've ever seen - like at least 10x the price of the ones I've just bought  (admittedly I think they're steel which is fine for my purposes..)

Ha ha, yes some of the bigger thread/longer length Ti bolts are a horrific price (don't remind me).

They do a good range of non-Ti fasteners in smaller sizes and lots of colours too though.
