preamp/eq for acoustic bass ?

Hi everyone, hope I'm in the right place for this. I've been playing a friends bass for a couple of months now and I'm hooked ! but I have a problem, I'm pretty much broke lol. The friend who loaned me the bass has given me an Aria acoustic bass that he doesnt want (AMB 50B). it sounds ok but the preamp has been junked along with the piezo. I have an interface and want to play through my pc.
My question is, will any preamp/eq and piezo work ? I've seen them on ebay and some say suitable for acoustic guitar/bass.
I know there cheap and probably not that good but I just want to play and maybe learn to record.
